The antiquarian buildings is from the 17th, 18th and 19th century. The collection of buildings contains cottages, storehouses, barns, stables and houses related to dairy farming and rural culture in Norway. You will also find a schoolhouse, a house for dyeing fabric and a forge – all of which are carefully kept in its original appearance.

Additionally, Nordfjord Folkemuseum is responsible for hydropower in Sogn og Fordane as an exhibition theme. As a result, we display a fully functional grain mill, fulling mill, sawmill and a wheelhouse – strategically placed along the river.

During the summer season (June 15 - September 15), the houses are furnished to recreate how they originally would have appeared. During the off-season you may enter the houses by appointment.
